1 · Drop the roster in
Excel or CSV, however messy. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — the file is read
right here in your browser and the original is never changed.
Choose a file, or drag it here
.xlsx · .xls · .csv
2 · Check the columns
This is what the app thinks each column means. School systems all name things
differently, so change anything that looks wrong before it processes.
3 · Fix & review
Everything safe is already done. What is left is where two rows might be two
different children — those are yours to call.
4 · Download
The roster goes out as a single tab, because that is all GotPhoto will take.
Everything else is a separate file, so nothing has to ride along with it.
Send this to GotPhoto
One tab. One row per student. No second sheet underneath it.
Opening it in Google Sheets4 steps
- Open a blank sheet at sheets.new.
- File → Import → Upload, and pick the CSV you just downloaded.
- Set Convert text to numbers, dates and formulas to No.
This is the one that matters — left on, it turns a Student ID of
0018472into18472. - Import data.
Going straight from the CSV to GotPhoto skips all
of this — the file itself is already correct.
Print name labels
Keep for yourself
What still needs a human, and what the tool changed on the way. GotPhoto
never sees these.
